Blackburn Rovers host reviving Arsenal at Ewood Park in the Saturday lunchtime kick-off. Under-fire manager Steve Kean faces a huge task to halt the promising progress Arsene Wenger’s new look squad has shown in recent games.

Arsenal got back to winning ways with a narrow 1-0 victory over Swansea City last weekend and almost grabbed all 3 points in midweek against Borussia Dortmund, only to be denied in the end by a stunning Perisic volley.

All four of Wenger’s summer signings have now had a look in the first team and Wenger will be hoping that his squad blend in and improve their form as they look to cut down the gap between them and the two Manchester clubs at the top.

The hosts, meanwhile, are currently bottom of the table and only got their first point of the season last weekend at Craven Cottage. Blackburn have been performing below-par and look a shadow of themselves as compared to a season ago.

Steve Kean is under tremendous pressure to deliver results after a woeful start to the campaign. He has not endured a great reign as Rovers manager and despite the club’s owners backing him publicly time and time again, his days look numbered unless he turns the club’s fortunes around soon.

The Blackburn fans are planning a 1,000-strong protest before Saturday’s game outside of Ewood Park demanding that manager Kean be removed from his post. This is not ideal preparation to face one of the better sides in the league and Kean must be fervently hoping that his side turn in a decent performance or his time may well be up come 3pm tomorrow.

Alex Song and Gervinho return to Arsenal’s squad after serving their suspensions and the availability of Aaron Ramsey and Tomas Rosicky depends on late fitness tests to be performed before the game. Blackburn report no injury worries except Chirstopher Samba who sustained a knock last week against Fulham. Junior Hoilett, who had to be stretched off after a heavy collision last week, is fit and available for Blackburn.

Junior Hoilett has been the only bright spark in a woeful start to the season for Blackburn and the hosts will be hoping he has enough in his tank to put in another eye dazzling display against the Gunners.

Arsenal: Robin van Persie.
The Dutchman has been consistently getting on the score sheet while his team mates have been falling like nine pins behind him and expect another solid performance from the striker tomorrow.

Prediction: Arsenal might be a little tired after their midweek trip to Germany but they should produce a solid enough performance to see off Blackburn and continue their revival.
